Louise thanks you!

Infant
Dear Tom, Tim and Sherie, James and Julie, and Carys,

Thanks to your donation of formula, Chances for Children has been able to keep Louise with her maternal grandmother by providing a month of baby formula. Louise’s birth mother was killed two months after her birth in a street crime. Louise is now living with her grandmother, but unfortunately was not receiving proper nutrition.

Thanks to your donation, Louise can now remain in the care of her extended family and grow and thrive.  Thank you again for your support!

Bedesam Receives the Care he Needs

Haiti Baby
Dear valen and Julie,

Bedesam lives with his eight brothers and sisters as well as his mother, whom does not have the funds to take care of them. They all suffer from severe malnutrition.

Bedesam was in the worst shape of all, and as such, his mother decided to put him in the care of Chances for Children’s for the next three months in order to restore his health through the Medika Mamba program. Once Bedesam has stabilized and is able to diget and absorb nutrients, Chances for Children will return him back to his family.

Thank you for making it possible for Bedesam to get the care that he needs!

Gina Graduates!

Dec 222
Dear Julie,

Gina just completed a three month nutrition intervention program with Medika Mamba thanks to your donation. Gina lives at one of the orphanages that Chances for Children manages and has been in institutional care for most of her life.

Gina had not been getting the proper nutrition due to some stomach issues which had gone untreated. She was severely malnourished and dehydrated when she started the program; but as you can see – she is excited to be receiving not only her very first Christmas gift, but also the gift of health, thanks to you!

Thank you again for helping support Gina during this difficult time.  Your generosity is very much appreciated!

Her hair and eyes tell the story

jaline admission jan
Dear Julie and Courtney,

This is Lovedidine, the day she was brought into the care of Chances for Children.  She had been living in a very poor and not very well taken care of orphanage in the plateau region of Haiti. She weighed less then 10 pounds at two and a half years of age.

Lovedidine has been on the Medika Mamba program for six months and is now radiant. Her hair is growing, her eyes sparkle and her smile is contagious.  She has also recently been matched with an adoptive family and Chances for Children is hopeful that she will be living with them within the next twelve months.

Thank you so much for making a difference in Lovedidine’s life.  Your generosity is much appreciated!

Another baby rescued!

z (60)
Dear Courtney, Sam, and Joel,

The little guy in the picture was rescued at the same time as another child, Lovedidine. Both Robenz and Lovedidine were two and half years old and weighed only a fraction of what a normal toddler should weigh for their age. You can tell from his distended stomach, that Robenz is not in good nutritional shape.

Thanks to all of your help, Robenz has started the Medika Mamba program and is on his way to good health. He currently lives at the Chances for Children adoption orphanage where he is being monitored by staff and nurses. He is also matched with an adoptive family.

Thank you so much for your donation.  Robenaz would not be doing as well without your kind support!

Precious Daphene is doing very well!

DSC_0363
Dear Dawn and Carys,

One of the sweetest babies that has ever been brought under the care of Chances for Children, Daphene, was brought in by her father. He lost his wife (Daphene’s mommy) in childbirth and had no way of caring for her. He asked the Chances for Children staff to take care of Daphene and find a family to love her.

With your donation of formula, Daphne is doing very well.  Chances for Children has also found her an adoptive family in the U.S. who are anxious to shower her with love.

Thank you so much for your kind donation!

Lourde is looking better…

Lourde1
Dear Joel, Shreeya, and Amy,

…but still has some health issues to overcome. Thanks to your donation of Medika Mamab, Lourde and his twin sister, Lourdinia are growing and grinning! They were brought to Chances for Children by their birthmother who was not able to feed them.

Both children are two years of age and their mother did not have an income and was living with ten extended family members in a tent. Chances for Children’s goal is to return these children to health and hopefully by that time their mother will be more financially stable and able to care for her twins.

Thank you so much for your kind donation. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Happy and healthy after 6 months

Dec 134
Dear Mack-Parker Family, Kathleen, and Gavin,

Meet 3 year old J. Roody in Haiti. Your generosity has changed his life. J. Roody was left at this orphanage 6 months ago weighing only 12 pounds and in bad shape. He was checked by one of our pediatricians and immediately put into our malnutrition program. His improvement was slow but gradual and now, after 6 months on Medika Mamba, he is in great shape and doing very well. We do not know how to locate his parents, but he will continue to remain under our care and we are hopeful they will come back for him. J. Roody and all the staff at Chances for Children thank you for your donation.

Grateful for your help

Dec 135
Dear NANCY, Ashish, and Shari,

This is Frisca, he is almost 4 years old and just began the Medika Mamba program thanks to your donation. His birth mother traveled 4 hours to bring him to us for help. She had heard about our program from a cousin who also had a child under our care here in Haiti. Our goal will be to keep Frisca under the Medika Mamba program for 3 months to help him get strong and allow his body to accept normal foods. He currently weighs 15 pounds but we are confident we will see amazing progress once he starts the program. Thank you for giving Frisca a chance to grow and be healthy.

Dear Kerry, Sabrina, Tara, and Andrew,

Thanks to your donations, Frederson is getting plenty of great nutrition! He was abandoned by his birth mother at 2 months of age and without formula, he would have no way to be fed.
